Rod's Background

Rod Wright works with men over 30 who are thinking about divorce or who are already going through the divorce process. He helps his clients move from the emotions of divorce to the business of divorce with the goal of finding a fair solution, focusing on what’s important to them. Other professionals may need to become involved, at which point, Rod reaches out to his professional acquaintances in order to make an appropriate referral.

Rod’s clients often:

  • Feel vulnerable
  • Don’t feel that they can ask for help
  • Feel like they’ve lost the game
  • Can’t be in touch w/ their feelings
  • And want to feel in control

Rod helps his clients by:

  • Connecting on a guy-level
  • Creating an open space where guys feel comfortable talking about what they need to talk about.
  • Encouraging his clients to be honest w/ themselves.
  • Working with his clients to determine what they truly want, which leads to their being in control of their destiny.

When asked what he wants for his clients, Rod stated:

“I want my clients to understand that one miss doesn’t mean they’re out of the game. I want my clients to feel good about themselves and about the decisions they make. I want my clients to know that they did their best. I want my clients to feel comfortable. In the end, I want my clients to be moving on to a more satisfying life.”

Rod holds a Master's Degree in counseling and has been working with individuals, groups, and couples since 2014. He is Board Certified by NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors - 741744) in general counseling, is licensed as a counselor by the State of Maryland (LC8732), and is a Certified Divorce Coach. He is a member of the American Counseling Association and the National Board of Certified Counselors.

Rod believes in order for counseling and coaching to be successful, the counselor/coach and the client need to have a good connection with each other. He strives to begin forming that connection from the very first meeting with his clients.
